I was a little surprised by the meat on that contract as well. Granted, I really like Anderrsen, and he shows great potential....but that's a long contract and a pile of money for someone with a year and a half in, as you say. I would have thought 4 years at 3M, something like that, but what do I know. I do like him, he may look like a bargain Gio before it's over.

Slick skater, hard shot, very good passer, & plays with an edge. Like any contract that length, it will be deal or a flop, unlikely much in-between. Tre read Johnny, Mony, Backlund, etc perfect so far

I'm not a contract pro, but to me seems like decent signing. Good young D man long term. If he can find some points consistently and keeps shutting guys down, I like it.

Sounds like Talbot is starting.

Hard to argue with that given his performance of late. Averaging his last 6 games, his SA% is 0.940%.

I'm good with it too, let Dave rest up and get hungry again. He hasn't looked great the last couple of starts.

The cap hit is less then we pay Brodie, the way Anderson has been playing he is currently a top 4 defenseman, and if he continues to progress at the same rate will end up being a top pairing defenseman in a few years.

Although Brodie has been playing much better since his incident, I still feel way more confident when Anderson is on the ice then Brodie.

Everyone should have a 10 year contract. $500000/ year with huge quarterly incentives. It would be like watching the world juniors all season.

Talbot is a better goalie than rittich. When he’s on he’s on, when he’s off he’s off.
Key is to play him every game until he breaks while he’s dialed in. Couldn’t of picked a better time than right now to turn on. Win 7 of the next 10 games and I think Calgary will be in first or right there.

That's part of the game though, you can't just disregard the "off" portions as the backup may be no good, sick, injured, etc., but have to consider the total package.

That why oilers played him 70 some games lol. I think he has potential to steal the starters net. I say continue to play whoever is winning. Talbot has been playing good as of late. Don’t care who is playing just win. God i hate playing Minny. Like watching paint dry

Pretty good night, Calgary won and Vegas, Arizona, and Vancouver all lost. First to fourth in the division is now seperated by one point.

Tough division. You loose and it hurts. You win and you stay the same. Long ways to go but we are seeing some separation. Saturday night will be great. Might have to find tickets!!

It might be okay, not like Marchand, Taveres, Kopitar, or Barkov are coming to town.

I'll take that anyday. Smith played well last game, so I'm expect a SA% around 0.820.

You would think the shooters from each team would know the goalies weak spots ? Or do the goalies know the shooters go to ? To play or not play them tis the question.

At the start of the season I would have bet the central would have had 5 playoff positions and the pacific would hold 3. Now I am thinking it is a 4/4 split or maybe even 5/3 in favor of the Pacific. What is the last time that both Calgary and Edmonton made the playoffs together? Some great hockey going on right now.

So with Arizona loosing last night, if Columbus were to beat Vegas tonight, tonight's game could potentially put one of us in 1st the way I'm looking at it. As if tonight's game needed another storyline. Tis a big one.

Yes the last time a battle of Alberta game held more importance was almost 30 years ago.

Fellas, tonight this is the real Mccoy. Tied in standings, both on 4 game heaters, multiple storylines, and playoff spots on the line. Damn this is good. so, so good.

To the winners, elation. To the losers, misery.

Let's get it on!
