Default drying agent

what do you fellas use as a drying agent- alum, salt or borax and what do you prefer. I've been using borax . Thk.

I'm guessing your using this for coyotes? Why do you feel the need to use a drying agent in the first case? Just curious. I don't use anything and my furs dry just fine. A guy really needs to becareful in my opinion what he puts on the hides because you can really cause the chemistry of the hide to change which might cause a nightmare for a tanner.

If you're doing them for the fur industry you definitely DO NOT want to use salt or alum. I use borax on some spots....armpits, ear butts, etc.
