The PC and WR did not lose because the split the vote... Combined they have what??? Like 31 seats? The NDP won because defections to the NDP from within there own parties. If they split the vote we we would have a minority NDP government rather than a dominant majority...

No. Its the ones that were going to vote PC under a different name expecting change that have compromised thought. Living in fear is no way to live a life or enact change. Most ABers have risen above that. Try it.

Check their core values and philosophy, they have never had anyone who understood business or even basic economic concepts, suddenly they are going to make things work?

The markets are far more astute and forward thinking than any government is capable of being, let alone a socialist government, the problem is the NDP because the market will not trust them.

As for '2%' not being significant, for some companies it makes a big difference, the bigger question is how many jobs do people with your attitude create vs those to whom that 2% may be important?

In the long run a short term NDP will hopefully be a good thing, it will hopefully give the Wildrose time to get their act together, and wise up Albertans to the sheer folly of an NDP farce,

Don't think it was a NDP win as much as a PC Loss...destruction.

If Jim Prentazzz wants to know why the PC's lost he need only look in the mirror.

Forgive me... they did split the right vote yes, but even joined they would still not have formed government.

And you don't know how I vote. I am just observing inaccuracies...

Sorry but the fear mongers sound just like the fumb ducks after Harper was elected last time.

Sky is falling, sky is falling.

Let us see what happens.

Alberta wanted a change and now we have it.

I want to know how many people voted.

If it’s a majority what is the split?

The total numbers could support your comment

I had the same opinion you have in the last election......but the majority ruled then, as it will now. I am not so naïve to believe that a lot of the support was just as much against the PC as it was for the NDP.........but the fact is, they won a kick at the cat so to speak and I will give them a chance, before I vote to skid them if they don't do well.

I believe that the whole political climate changed with this election, I also don't think you will see a 40 year dynasty ever again, if the party in power does not do well and does not fulfill their promises they will punted, and another party will be elected. I don't think you will ever see a political party think they will be a "shoe in" ever again, they are going to have earn it, which is the way it should be.

This is fact... one can win more seats without the overall popular vote. It would be interesting to see how that turns out for sure, but the fact is, seats win elections, wrong or right...

Keystone is a business deal not a gov't endeavor other than waiting on required US gov't approval. AB Gov't was only working as supporter to the business proposal. AB gov't will have no say in the final deal/negotiations. Try again with the misinformation. Facts have been scarce all through the campaign. Why start now.
