Anyone else seeing a large number of fox in there area? Lots around our place this year. You never see them till they are in the traps.

I've got 4 this year. Same places as I got mine last year as well on my 2 baits. I think there is one more there as well I just saw his track today. I got 7 last year just hanging tote snares. I usually get most of them tanned and plan on making some mitts this summer with red fox fur

I'm in red deer. Most of them have been caught 100 yard behind the house.

Are you catching a lot of coyotes in your traps as well, or mainly fox? I'm just wondering if the fox are thriving because of an environment with fewer coyotes

We have a huge coyote population here catching a lot with mange and shoulder mite. It's funny but we see yotes all the time but never fox. I'm shocked how many I'm catching. I'm finding the fox are allot less choosey about the bait and traps. Seems if there is a fox around I will get him. Maybe they have to be because they arnt the number one preditor so when the yotes arnt on the bait they don't waste time to get a meal. Also 13 outta 15 have been males so the population must be huge. Hopefully this helps out the pheasants and huns

Around my town there are tonnes of yotes. And we see their fox as well but they generally can out run a yote that I have witnessed. The town has lots of yotes eating peoples dog and cat food. And I'm sure some of the missing dog and cat posters around were the result of yotes. Problem here is you can't get them in town. And only dumb young ones get caught in a live trap here.

Has anyone noticed a drop in yote numbers and then starting to pick up more fox. I have picked up around 27 yotes at one bait and now I am starting to snare a couple of fox. Just wondering if you guys are seeing the same thing?

Lots of fox in the area last couple years. Had a den a couple hundred yards from my deck this spring. She had 7 pups!

How do you like the foot snare? I have caught at least twenty coyotes by the front foot and it happens after a windy day. I got to thinking it might work on snare shy coyotes

This is my first experience with them and they worked great. They are the same concept as a leg hold. I think it's like anything you need to be diverse in your strategies for catching canies as they seem to learn quickly. It's just one more tool in the box for me. Caught this one this morning on a Bridger #3

Took down all the gear last night! 25 red fox trapped on a 1/2 section of land is pretty crazy. But out on the sled this am with the daughter we cut at least 3 more sets of fox tracks so they are still out there.

Default Red fox

When I cleaned up my last 25 snares last week from my last bait, I had 3 fox. I've never caught a fox in that spot before. Didn't get a coyote for about 2 weeks there, and then all of a sudden, 3 fox? I was thinking maybe a hot female, and 2 males looking for some luvin'.
