Thumbs up How is your ice fishing season going so far

Just thought I would post a quick report how my ice season is going so far fishing with great people having a blast. My biggest pike so far landed a 40 inch no noticeable other catches. 22 walleye on the year and 46 pike. Saw a 13 inch perch caught from st Anne. And a 8 pound burbot caught by Vigsy. Enjoy.

Nice pictures, that burb is a hog! I have had a decent year thus far, iced a ton of rainbows and kept a few for the frying pan. Nothing too impressive, 15-16in is about as big as I've landed so far. This will all change when I get to Devils Lake this weekend where the average perch is around 13in

Tight line!

I don't count them all but about 10 rainbows- 3 over 3lbs, 1 being 4. About 15 eyes. 9lbs largest, a 5, 2x6 and a 7. Provably about 20 whites. Largest 21-22inch. A whack of speckies, some high teens pike. Too many pike to count. . A few perch but nothing worth mentioning. A couple burbs. Its been a solid year. Fished: battle, gull, lake x for trout, Shuster, Gregg lake, a few other ones up in hinton, lac la biche, and wabamun. That is all

I'm enjoying my first year fishing Cold Lake. Been kinda hooked on fishing for lakers so far, but I'm going to branch out and try and find some other species on that lake to fish for!!

Not a newb thing at all,my ice auger is 22 years old and I fished for years before I bought the auger! My 8 year old boy keeps track, seems to really enjoy it. That's the only reason I know

Been a great season so far.
And I have never actually kept a notch stick of catches. I just enjoy my time even if it's a skunk day. Thankfully I have not experienced that this year (knock on wood).

Nice pics BGSH

I haven't had much luck. im thinking the flooding this last spring has really put a damper on the fisheries in some of southern AB lakes I frequent

Here's a nice pike my son got Saturday.
Plus he won the $5 bets on first and largest white, but not on first to catch the limit. ( no pics of whites as nothing exceptional)

It's been a great year so far, fishing with new friends and old. Managed to get a few first timers on the ice and into some fish, which is always a great change from the unending pursuit of more and bigger fish.

Picked up a GoPro, and have been meddling with footage. Lots of fun.

Hooked up with many forum members on the ice and have explored new water, and new spots on old water. It's been a dynamic season, coming to a close sooner than we think!

Good luck out there folks, thanks for the thread Shawn! Nice fish!

Probably my best season ever , haven't fished a whole bunch , but been skunked only one time out . Lots of whites , a big burbot { that AO Member Muddy was thrilled to keep } and a bunch of small pike .. Muddy on the other hand has yet to get skunked this year , and he has been out a fair bit .He is teaching me the finer points of ice fishing , thanx buddy .

My best hard ice season hands down. New PB Burbot and Pike, my first and only lake whitefish and a few hundred perch so far. Trip to Saskatchewan next month will only top it all off

It's been a great year for my group! My GF landed a beauty for her first ever lake trout, we've landed a couple respectable 40" Gators, some healthy AB Walleye and some big ole burbs! Best of each pictured below. Season ain't over yet neither!

It's been a terrible season for me, Ive made 8 trips around the 1 hour range of Edmonton and have been skunked at every outing! But I've kept plugging away as I thought sooner or later things would change... And today was that day!! I went to Wabamun and absolutely had the time of my life!! Caught my PB pike at 83 cm and 9.2 LBS..At least 10 pike all in the 4 to 8 lbs range..
