Default Head on near miss

I like traveling at night but the thought of this is allways on my mind.

Got ran off the road near Boyle coming home from Conklin bout 5 yrs ago in thick fog, a semi was passing going the opposite direction in almost zero visibility and we almost went head on. Thought for sure that was it for me.

This bus driver could probably use some new undies.

I hope they tracked down that truck and give him a life time class 1 suspension.

WOW --- looks like the truck driver got mesmerised by the headlights of the bus -- to tired and crossed over.

Had that happen once out by Gibbons very early in the morning. The guy crossed over and I kept pulling over and eventually was in the ditch. When his tires went off the pavement he jerked his truck back onto the road and kept going. Took me a while to get over the shakes.

I expect that the bus driver took a break for a while to settle his nerves down. Worried about getting hit head on and tipping the bus. Not good.

Many years ago, I was fored into the ditch by a semi on highway 63. The highway was covered by freezing rain, one semi had lost traction climbing a hill, and the other semi chose to go around the semi, and force three other vehicles including myself into the ditch, rather than stop behind the first semi. We reported the incident to the RCMP, but apparently they never found the semi that ran us off of the road.

Nice to see Alberta moving towards more rigorous trucker training and testing by certified government testers like Ontario. We need all provinces to bring in similar standards.

I drive a lot for work, I don't get nervous when driving unless its real foggy or smokey. But my biggest fear on the roads is what the other guy is doing or not doing. That's a scary video. Good thing the bus driver figured out early enough the truck was in his lane.
