Smile Camping/picnic treats, post your favorites

I was talking to another member about different treats and snacks to make while out camping or for picnics. I mentioned banana boats and they'd never heard of them so here's how to make one
Post any snacks or treats that you like to make while out and about

Cut a groove the length of the banana on the inside curve through the peel and banana flesh but not right through the bottom part of the peel and spread apart about 1/2".
Fill cavity with mini-marshmallows and chocolate chips or Rosebud chocolates
Wrap well in heavy duty foil.
Place on coals for about 5 minutes with the cut side facing up.
Open carefully and eat with a spoon right from the banana peel.

That is how to make a banana boat, kids and adults luv em

You got that right.
Infact I taught that trick last night to our friends.

MY FAV

6 tablespoons cocoa
1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup milk
1 1/2 cups sugar
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
3 cups oatmeal
1 cup coconut

1 Boil first 4 ingredients for 2 minutes.
2 Remove from heat and add vanilla.
3 Pour over oatmeal and coconut and mix well.
4 Drop tsp fulls onto wax paper and wait until dry and easy to lift off paper.

STORE IN FRIDGE IN CLOSED CONTAINER.

It's not terribly inventive, but one of my camping faves is the ol Jiffy Pop popped over the fire

Mix up bisquik or pancake mix rather thick. Place on a stick and form a ball of sorts. Toast over fire till done and dust with icing sugar. Gets me my sweet fix while back country camping. As it's rather light to pack in.

Loved doing screaming weenies as a kid.
Get the hotdog fork screaming red hot, and take a partially frozen hotdog or sausage and put it on. Everyone would be quiet to hear it.

Or make camp pies.
Use those cast iron pie irons and take 2 slices of bread, filling (pizza stuff, fruit, meat, eggs etc) and close up them cook them.

I dont have it any more but used to have a campfire popcorn maker. Nothing beat the campfire popcorn. Had a bit of a smokey flavour.

Not really feasible while out camping, but try this deep fried. Had that in camp one time.

Edit: Meant to include the other quote about the bacon wrapped hotdogs.. can't seem to figure it out.
