Not that it makes it OK, but I always thought that there was a difference between a pellet gun and an airsoft... Maybe "Airsoft" sounds to wussy for the media.

Hard to believe that there was a day and age when it was OK to shoot gophers out of the school bus on the way to school...

Dont forget, these guns are used in the same way that paintball guns are used as a sport and game. They sting a bit and sometimes break skin. Not the most terrible thing in the world for these kids to be doing but still terrible parrenting on the mothers part.

The picture they showed did look a lot like an airsoft gun, however, I was just in Canadian tire yesterday. And I saw one that looked just like that gun. It is a pellet/bb gun and comes with 2 clips and a co2 cartidge. I'm pretty sure it was 200 bucks! So I can't see it being an airsoft gun, maybe I'm wrong though?

How stupid can people be?

You get much better groups if the car is parked...

Read under the picture of the airsoft gun it says:

"RCMP seized three of these Stinger P311 pellet guns from kids who were shooting the guns out of their mother's vehicle as she drove around Kelowna Tuesday."

And if you look up the gun, they retail for about 16 bucks.

It is a cheap airsoft pistol. The Crossman stuff tends to be garbage, in addition to being inexpensive.

#1 son is HEAVILY into airsoft, and if he's talking to me it is usually about airsoft.

And, just because they shoot plastic pellets doesn't mean they're not particularly dangerous. Some of them are very dangerous. #1 son has two guns that make me a little nervous. I actually insist that he stores them as if they were non-restricteds: and he needs to store his ammo separately as well.

And registered too?

Nope. I would have to disagree. We need less rules and regulations, not more

Parents have to do their jobs. Some wont, but most do. Hold them accountable.

You'd be amazed at how much $$ some people spend in airsoft. I have several friends who have over 500$ in the gun alone. In all honesty you can't tel the difference between theirs and a real M4. The magazine is the battery and where you put the BB's. Hell some of them even have Eotechs on the rail. All I know is they sure hurt when you get hit by them. I still have a half dozen scars on my left side where they had alittle "fun" with me.

As for the story, wow does anyone thing this is Canada's youngest drive by shooting?

The point everyone seems to have missed is that Road Signs are not even in season until mid Sept in BC and you are not allowed to hunt Road Signs using a firearm that is loaded with a single projectile.

This is even more serious than playing mail box baseball with an aluminum bat between May 24 and before Canada Day!

Honestly...she has a license to drive a car and doesn't....

a. know what the kids in it with her are doing and even if she did...doesn't
b. think thats a problem?

I hope they tested her urine cause she's gotta be on drugs...

An airsoft gun is meant to be shot from a stationary position, while wearing eye protection, any extra momentum deems them unsafe to be shot at somebody, in alberta would be a dangerous weapon
