Definitely had to go Lacey Act if that many animals were taken illegally by clients from out of state.

Some of the Alberta Outfitters of the past could have gave these guys a good run for their money.

The lengths some will go to shoot a marginal deer. Unreal.

From the article: "It was also found that Hueftle and other HHO associates regularly gun hunted non-game migratory birds, including various native species of hawks or falcons such as red-tailed hawks and American kestrels while the birds perched upon fence lines or electrical power lines."

Why in the world are they referring to this egregious act as hunting?!

'Oh my gosh' and then we wonder why their is so little game left. Some Alberta judges could sure use some of the hefty fines them Americans hand out.

As always, a lot of the scum floats at the top.

From that article:

Quote:
“ Thirty defendants, including several well-known hunting industry personalities, have pleaded guilty, ”

https://www.deeranddeerhunting.com/c...lls-outfitters

Note the comment about the wasted meat (just serves as more baiting I suppose):

30 plead guilty so far in largest poaching case in Nebraska history | Crime-and-courts | omaha.com

And - not only HUGE fines but FEDERAL PRISON TIME. You want to stop crap like this happening - put these poachers in prison and make sure they get hit with fines that will have them get out of jail and into poverty. The 15 year ban on hunting/trapping/etc... is icing on the cake.

That's like a triple roe-sham-boe .....

And let's hope his cell mate is big, rough and lonely.

I wish we handled criminals like this here in this same manner.

Jacob Hueftle, 30, the co-owner and chief operator of Hidden Hills Outfitters, was sentenced to 30 months in federal prison by U.S. District Judge Joseph F. Bataillon earlier this month. He was also ordered to pay $214,375 in restitution, jointly with his company, to the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission.

It must be nice, OH by the way, that fine is a right-off to the business, so guess who is paying for it?

you can't write off as a business expense penalties for criminal prosecution, and even if you could its still a big hit to the bottom line.
