Why is it that if you tie a piece of silk around your neck, you suddenly become more important?
Ties. I HATE THEM

When you put something hot in a thermos...it stays hot.
When you put something cold in a thermos...it stays cold.
How does it know??

Who thought it would be a good idea to have a message randomly pop up on the navigation system that says, "Taking your eyes off the road for too long or too often is a safety hazard, and can lead to serious injury or death."?

Is there a piece of wedding cake in your freezer? If so, why?

Who thought it a great idea for the interior light to stay lit long after I closed the door..now I am always walking
away slowly for that 39seconds until it goes out so I don't have dead battery issues the next morning.

[QUOTE=Twisted Canuck;4250357]What if the whole world farted at once? Would the Greenland glaciers all disappear? Would the planet warm enough that I wouldn't have to move to skip winter? Would everyone's eyebrows fall off?

What if we all faced west and started running at the exact same time....would the world turn faster??

Cake is for eating ......... that's what I do with my cake. Can't think of any good reason to simply "have it" and not eat it.
That has to be the stupidest saying ever - not sure why people say it - is it because this confusing riddle makes them seem wiser (like they know a big secret) compared to the rest of us, who just eat their cake like fools?
|
Because you can't have both....two good things at the same time.
"I'd love to be a brain surgeon but don't want the resposibilty that goes along with it" Well you "can't have your cake and eat it too"
Once you receive the cake, you eat it, then its gone.
-Having the cake is good.
-Eating the cake is good.
You can't have both.

I’ve never given that saying any thought other than to apply it in context. Good explanation!

that would be incorrect...it makes a sound wave, an ear has to hear it before its a noise!

Why do they make all Snow blowers with the most insane, slow reverse speeds?
I used to put it in neutral and drag in backward to hurry up, then I move to plows & deleted
the nonsense forever, lol.

When we’re surrounded by cold half the year why do we pay good money to refrigerate our food? (Or: why don't we use the free cold we are blessed with? )
i.e. Insulated tube to a plate suck on fridge or fridge in box on outside wall...

At the cabin I built a frame with old decking 2x6s and covered it with a tarp. Loaded all the surplus but good wood onto it. Left it that way rarely digging through the wood for projects. So of course the tarp shredded and leaked. So then after about 20 years I dismantled it all and hauled most of the now rotting, bug and squirrel damaged wood to the dump. :-)
However i still have several collections of “precious” materials for future projects in sheds.

- And a week later, you needed some 3' pieces of 2 x 6 for a new project, and had to go down and buy new 8' lengths!

I would be able to park mine without a reverse in slow speed, LOL. Well I wouldn't, but I know what you are saying.

During the financial crash of 2008, Ford removed the passenger side door key hole, and the thermometer on all the superduty's. Minor inconvenience for the consumer, but Ford did not need a taxpayer bailout due to this, and many more small savings initiatives that saved them multiple millions.
I had a big issue with this, when my 2008 F-150 was dead, and parked so close to a fence on the drivers side, that I couldn't even get the key into the drivers side door lock. I had to go under, and remove skid plates to access the battery from the bottom. Fun fact: A 2008 F-150 alarm will go off as soon as you hook power back up, when it's dead. Funner fact: You can jump so hard when said alarm goes off that you break your nose off the oil pan.

Why does a horse standing in 3 feet of hay reach over the fence and eat the 3 inches of grass on your lawn?

You might have misheard the important parts of a variation on this saying? According to some people from Utah and a small town in BC, you can have both.

I don't know if my dog really likes and grooves to music or is just humoring me.
Do dogs vibe to music?

Well that’s a given. One week after anything saved for years goes in the garbage, you’re guaranteed to need it.

What's with home electronics like cable box, TVs etc. now having a red indicator light when the thing is turned off? I don't need to see a 24/7 status check
If it won't turn on then I'll go check the power supply...

What is 'prometrium'? According to the ads on TV and radio it is the same price as the generic equivalent and I should ask my Dr. for the real thing. But I have no idea what it is for and I'm not sure why I would know.
