Could have been a different game if the Oilers hit the net.

I agree, good game..but as far as giveaway, I think it was more a matter of Backlund having great hockey sense to pinch that. Jones would get away with that 90% of the time. Don't want to be hard on the kid, I actually think he has good potential.

The problem is we should have Sekera and Larson playing against the Backlund line and Klefbom and Nurse playing against the Gaudreau line. And that is even a stretch calling Klefbom and Nurse a 1/2 pairing. Especially in the west where other teams 1/2 are Karlsson and Burns or Gio and Brodie or any of the Preds d-man. Even if we start to get secondary scoring and a 910-915 save % on a consistent basis, we are still weak on the back end. I do agree that Jones and Bouchard are the future, but I think we need something a little more solid right now and Manning isn't it. On a positive note, Benning hasn't looked overly terrible the last couple of games.

We flat out got beaten by the better team. Again...

McDavid's level of engagement was incredible to watch. I'm afraid though that far too many of his teammates feel the same way. Leon was absolute garbage tonight. Nuge, beyond the goal, was once again invisible. My gut feeling is that he want's out. Also, if that POS Manning never plays another game for this team again, I'd be delighted.

Ultimately, this team just isn't good enough.

Shut her down 3-1. Calgary controlling play. Making quality shots on net. No so much with Oilers. Everything on outside. Leon looks lethargic. Everyone knows he is going to shoot the puck. Not enough jump.

I will say twice last night I seen what I thought was Lucic headed up ice and said to myself, damn he is a slow skater only to realize it was Draisaitl. When he is scoring and being good enough to be popular for the all star game, it's McDavid doing all of the heavy lifting. Way over paid

So how do they respond tonight on a back to back after that loss?? Carolina and Edmonton pretty even teams, so should be a good game.

Have to score by committee. It happened once this year when Lucic and Kassian chipped in two goals each. Other than than it’s still all McDavid. If you don’t have scoring throughout then your done...

Wooooo!!!! Good game boys. I was watching it with some Oilers fans (no i was not volunteering at Panoka's mental institution). After the game everyone left pretty quickly and i fell asleep, too much purple Gatorade.

Pretty much woke up like this and ready to have some fun

Another thought I had last night was when McLovin headed for the dressing room for a skate repair. Holly crap that's it he's had enough and walking out, done, fed up. But I was wrong he came back..

I think he might walk out tonight. LOL. What a joke team. People keep buying tickets though. That’s pretty extraordinary when you think about it.

McDavid does not look happy . I would love to know what's going thru his mind some games . He actually deserves every penny he makes for performance and patience . Oilers have to make huge changes .

No one asked me, and for good reason, but I think they should gut management and start over. Keep McDavid, Klefbom, Buchard, and Koskinen, and everyone else is available. And easier said than done, but go hard after Karlsson and Panarin in the summer.

I don't even know what to say about this game at this point. That pp goal was so easy looking, the Oilers look like they just quit this game about the time Talbot was letting in the first goal. No battle, no try, no nothing. Can't watch anymore.

I agree. But to blow it up and get anything back, you're going to have to offer more than Kassian and Manning.

I feel sorry for him. Nicest Guy in the League.

The Oilers need to just not do anything stupid, and retool for next year. The need to focus on development. There not even remotely good enough to win a round in the playoffs if they snuck in.
