Go out and buy yourself a Huskemaw and a decent rifle and practice, then let the dream become reality.

Speaking from experience, I have owned a Huskemaw. I thought the glass wasn't to bad until I sold it and bought my NF. I will shoot smaller groups at longer distances than I ever could with the Huskemaw. I also have a vx3-4.5-14 CDS it works just aS good or better than the Huskemaw.

Night force is a great scope for sure, the reason why I went with the Huskemaw is because it was lighter and with my 300 WSM Mountain Ti the whole setup weights under 7 lbs. To me they are both great scopes.

Hilarious thread.

i agree i want to think about this for a second
lets be generous and give it 3400 fps looks like a .322 bc too
Muzzle 3400
100 0
200 1
300 2.8
so 2.8 moa drop at 300 yards if your zero is at 100 so if you sighted in 4 moa high you would be 1.2 moa (3.6") above your point of aim at 300 then assuming your rifle shoots a 1 moa group at 100 there is a chance the round could hit up to 6.6" above point of aim at 300.
so it's not really accurate but it "could" be close.

My flattest shooting rifles are my 7mm stw rifles. Sighted in 2-3/4" high at 100 yards, the 140gr Accubond launched at 3500fps impact around 1/2" to 1" high at 300 yards. If I raised the point of impact to 4" high at 100 yards, the point of impact at 300 yards would be around 4"to4.5" high. I am unaware of any factory cartridge that would shoot flat enough to provide a point of impact 7" high at 300 yards, when sighted in 4" high at 100 yards.

Maybe a consistant flinch could cause that?

Pretty consistent flinch to be placing the bullet 7" high everytime. Would have to flinch the exact same milli milli milli milli second each time. Groupings would be horrid.

I know . Trying to figure out a reasonable explanation....that's all I had.... .
Or invisible ninjas are uppercutting the bullet as it leaves the rifle....
.....that was my second guess....

i'm with you. it might do it once as a flier but it's not going to be consistent
i should check my 220 improved i bet it could do that or come close with the 55's.

I wanted to post this for whatever it is worth, you can most likely find a flatter shoot in gun ,but.............................
Yards / Muzzle Velocity(FPS) Energy(FT-LBS) Drop In Inches(100YD) Zero Drop In Inches(200YD) Zero
MUZ: 2,900 3360 -1.5 -1.5
100: 2716 2947 0 1.6
200: 2539 2576 -3.2 0
300: 2369 2243 -11.8 -7
400: 2206 1944 -26.7 -20.2
500: 2049 1677 -48.6 -40.6
600: 1898 1440 -78.9 -69.2
700: 1756 1232 -118.8 -107.6
800: 1621 1050 -170.1 -157.2
with the right scope it works like this:
at the turret settings:
100 turn the turret to 1, aim point and shoot, dead on, dead animal.
200 turn the turret to 2, aim point and shoot, dead on, dead animal.
300 turn the turret to 3, aim point and shoot, dead on, dead animal.
400 turn the turret to 4, aim point and shoot, dead on, dead animal.
500 turn the turret to 5, aim point and shoot, dead on, dead animal.
600 turn the turret to 6, aim point and shoot, dead on, dead animal.
700 turn the turret to 7, aim point and shoot, dead on, dead animal.
800 turn the turret to 8. aim point and shoot, dead on, dead animal.
Huskemaw turrets work on 25 yard intervals. Does not get simpler then that and with Nosler Trophy Grade Accubond 180 Gr. 300 WSM, the impact good outcomes, but not for the intended target.

Looks like all the huskamaw needs is smart bullets that can compensate for wind drift and calculate speed vs distance for giving proper lead on moving game.
I think this is the chink in the armor.

And..... If you want to shoot a different ammo, load, powder or bullet you have to start all over because your turret will not work. Been there done that. Tried 130 grain factory accubonds in my 6.5-284 with the Huskemaw. Worked pretty well out to 800. Soon as I started hand loading for it, with faster velocities the turret was useless.

I have already said the Huskemaw has a built in Windage Compensation Technology Reticle which is deadly accurate with a wind Metre and I am not suggesting to shoot in hurricane force winds either.
All I know is that it works for me, very well in fact.

I've shot at distances before, and even compensating for the wind, had impacts 18" off target. Down a cutline, not so bad, wide open gravel pit, much more difficult.
When you're on a lake on a relatively calm day you can see ripples on the water, it can be dead calm where you are, but 50yds away you see ripples, then 200yds away, and more 500yds away.
The point these guys are trying to make is, although on paper the huskamaw system works, real life throws unexpected curve balls. I believe this scope works for you, but it won't every time, it's not absolute that's all.

Well, since you asked. If you go back and read your posts you make it sound like all I need is a huskamaw and click click click, dead every time at any range. That's why you're getting roasted.
I'm not getting sucked into this futile dispute, I was just trying to give a little insight from the sidelines.
Merry Christmas to all, happy shooting!

Looks like one of these, yet again.
I would like to reciprocate Kurt and wish you an excellent Christmas and the best hunting and fishing season or your life in 2015.

Oh the beauty.
Ok bud. I called you out before, and fortunately now most of AO is is as well. You called me a liar about referencing who has hunted with you and what they think of you. Now maybe you understand?
I offered to put you on national tv to quantify your abilities and you continue to sidestep that offer while publically calling guys out on their abilities.
I will state it right now. You sir are a liar. You practise poor ethics and frankly, you dont know what youre doing man. You have no clue whatsoever. You joined in september and have more posts than guys do after 3 years. You have not spent one day in the field this year. You are a clown.
Get over the napolean complex. You havent fooled one guy on this forum. You are nothing more than a bushwhacking hack that dooms future hunters by exhibiting garbage tendencies in the field. You are AO's version of uncle rico. 50 something years old and still throwing the football hoping to get the call up. Its sad man. Grow a set, show up or shut up
If i offended others with this post i apologize. It fires me up knowing this goof might be mentoring others new to hunting though. Mods, i probably deserve whats coming to me
Ban hammer on wildside commence.....
Cheers fellas
