From what I am seeing, most Canadians have nothing personal against the refugees, but rather they are just sick and tired of our government giving more and more money to refugees and to foreign countries when our own economy is in such a mess, and our veterans and seniors are being ignored. People are also upset that our government is not closing our borders to the immigrants that are entering Canada without going through the proper procedures. In short, people seem to be more upset with our government, and having to pay more taxes, than with anything else.

Not every refugee is bad, not every Canadian is good. It is what it is.

Most of these people are refugee FAMILIES!!!
So people are comparing being gassed and barrel bombed (by the Assad regime) and beheaded and literally crucified (at the hands of ISIS) with not being able to make the mortgage payment on their ridiculously priced house or making the payments on their ski-doo and ATV.

These are families. I suppose in their position you'd be staying, giving your five year old an AK and telling them to 'go fight for the cause'.
A lot of people should go visit some of these countries...hell, any third world country...then they'd realize they have no idea what suffering is about.
Let's take your child and watch them starve to death or be gassed to death and then see if your willing to put your money where your mouth is.

The key question is, if there is such a volume of fighting age males (whether they are a part of a family or not is beside the point) exiting the country, why don't they fight for their country?

Instead of bringing refugee families here why couldn't we bring the orphans here? Educate them and send them back? Train them to be leaders and lead their countries to a more promising future then warfare and bloodshed. I don't understand what is being accomplished by bringing the refugees here on a open ended bill. It sure isn't going to solve the problems of there homeland.

I doubt many of you have ever spoken to a refugee nor have been adversely affected by any on a personal level at any point.

It's just by the luck of the draw that we were born in Canada and not in a country where their leaders gas them and their children...

Are you assuming that all members of AO have not had to deal with extreme personal adversity?

This thread has about run its course with insults and some of the suggestions starting to get ridiculous.
Also, don't think there is a need to open ANOTHER thread too continue along this vein because everybody has pretty much stated their view, so if anybody gets the idea to..... DON"T!
