Friends
Very sorry for your loss. My wife lost her best friend, Phoenix, this summer. The miles and the memories are precious.
Look back on mans struggle for freedom
Trace his present day strengths to their source
And you'll find mans pathway to glory
Is strewn with the bones of a horse

It was as though he had found a new home, his eyes were bright with happiness, as were mine. We found a forever kinship. A trust and love that would last forever.
I can only hope that I gave my friend the love of life as he gave me. I will forever be grateful for the life experiences that you gave me my beloved horse and only hope that one day I can return the pleasures that you gave me.

Sorry for your loss. It hits close to home. The bond between man and animal can be incredibly strong. People see the faithfulness in an animal and are touched at a deep level.

Sorry too hear brother, he was lucky to have you as a friend, and spend the years doing things together.

Our family are horse people, I understand the bond that happens between us humans and our beloved animal sidekicks, sorry for the loss of such a fine companion, sounds like you two enjoyed many trips together.. Remember those good times.

I am sorry for your lose.
My father always said; "If the dog hadn't got here first the horse would have been man's best friend" stories like yours show that Dad was right.
By the way very good of you to save him from the knacker's yard! When you die I believe St. Peter will serve you first.

He won't be replaceable nor should he be. Maybe one day you will find another that will fill the hole a little but there will always be a hole and that's OK. It means he was loved.
Thank you for rescuing him and loving him.
I'm so sorry for your loss.
PS I think my heart must look like swiss cheese from all of my lost furry family members.

Sorry for your loss. Sounds like you guys were blessed when you found each other and ended up having an incredible run, full of great memories. The pain will eventually lessen but the memories will live on forever. Animals enrich our lives so much and we are blessed when we get to share our lives with them, especially one of the truly great ones.
RIP TooTall

All the best at this time. It sure sounds like "Too Tall" had an incredible home and your memories with him will live on as they should. Bonds with special animals can be very deep.

Sorry for your loss.
And don't feel bad about having stronger feelings about the loss of your horse than you've had for people.
It seems the older I get, I love and appreciate my animals more than some people I've been close to.

Sorry for your loss.
My sigline applies to horses and wives as well.
Most are fortunate to find one in a lifetime, a few of us find more than one.

I just read about your loss. I feel so sorry for you. Some animals become like family members, and like you said more missed than some people who have passed on. Remember all those good times with TooTall.

I fondly remember the day that you and I rode Cherokee and TooTall.. We had to unload the horses so that my truck could make it up that slippery hill. And that beautiful leather bullet sleeve that you gave me. I hunted with that prized possession today as a matter of fact. Loaded up with some 30-06 shells for my B78. I can't remember who rode who. I'm thinking you rode Cherokee and I rode TooTall.
