Your wedding pictures are special. You will show them to everyone for the first year. Then everyone will get sick of seeing them so you will put them "away"....

Probably look at them once every five years, laugh at your lack of rental tux choices, your wife will lament paying $2k for a dress that just cost her $400 to clean and have boxed up.......

Put more effort into the marriage than all the other meaningless bulls$:t and you will be better off.

Have someone take digital pics. You can see right away if something isnt right. Buy a $1000 camera, get a friend to take pics, then GIVE them the camera.

My 2 cents.
I like this '''ha haa,,

I would never let a woman bully me into paying for a wedding its only for her and she will only be around as long as it suits her. Men are not getting any smarter

Not to make light of your dilemma of wedding pictures, I do wish you luck with that.
A wedding thread is just a good place for a pun or two....

A chinese couple were married and on their wedding night they were making love for the first time and the man said to his wife, " Would you like to try Number 69."

She replied, " Why would I want beef and greens right now?"

Thanks for all the Info and some laughs too. The wife to be and I had a talk. I think we will go with disposable cameras and amateur photographer. Neither one of us wants to go into debt on this. We would rather by land in the future. Thank good mom is Scottish and taught me how to be thrifty/cheap lol. Thanks again for everyone's insight.

Now that the photography has been thoroughly covered, here's a tip of a different nature.

The day after your wedding, place a jar beside your bed. Everytime you and your wife have sex, place a loonie in the jar. After one year of marriage, every time you and your wife have sex, remove a loonie from the jar. After two years of marriage, count how many loonies are still in the jar.

im getting married on the 23rd and we are doing the disposable camera and a couple friends with nice SLR cameras. Thousands for pictures was ludicrous I thought, no reason for it.

Holy christ, the amount people spend on photos and weddings in general is insane. My wifewife and I rented a $2300 lens for something like $30 (I have a DSLR) and got a uncle who is into photography to run it. Also had two other family members who were into photography take photos. Quality was great! Not as great as a $4000 photographer, but would you rather be that much further ahead or have slightly better photos. We did our whole wedding for $5000, 60 people, great food, amazing venues, fun had by all!

That sounds about right for us. We are figuring 60-70 people or so. I have decided to do the disposalble camera's and an amature photographer.

Thanks again to everyone for the input even the divorce lesson's ( I will hold off on those for the time being).

On a side note the bachelor party is a camping/fishing weekend with the boys.

The women are doing the same thing on a different weekend.
