Default Cadomin Sheep Question

Got to Edson yesterday morning and it's raining. Wanted to go North but the boy and I decided to go south to Robb(pavement) to try and out run the rain. We beat the rain but as most know, the backwoods/trails are so wet our hunting trip fast became a day out. So we headed to Cadomin as that road was quite good and not a mud pit. Showed him some old spots, some areas we have snowmobiled and fished. Found a good spot in an old gravel pit and checked that the rifles were still shooting straight.

Then into Cadomin, showed him some stuff and back out through the mine. Seen a nice herd of elk bedded on a hill and a couple Rams.

What would this Ram be eating? He was vacuuming up what looked like mud. We couldn't see any grass under his nose.

We've seen this guy in the mine 3 weeks ago.
