Default Make sure you have exact change for the bus

I know a lot of what happens in Quebec just makes a guy shake his head, but to get fined $219 for not having exact change for the bus, like really? A couple days before this a guy in Quebec got fined $147 for sitting on the grass under a tree in a park. They must be hard up for a few bucks lol

Odd none of those compassionate socially conscious NDP voters on the bus would help her out with a couple bux of change.

Quebec is not famous for logic or common sense.

They can't even speak Henglish for crying out loud..

Liberal "utopia" and foreshadowing of things to come when we have a lib or ndp majority. Hypocrisy from any socialist reject within earshot of it all.

The freaks on the left figure the cpc is too gov't heavy, then what is this?

Nanny state garbage at best, and again, foreshadowing of a grim future.

I am calling BS on this one. She may have had a five dollar bill and the fair was three dollars. The driver would've given her a ticket if she had a simply dropped the five dollars and without expecting change. I have done it myself paying $4 for a $2.50 fare.

She got a ticket for not having a bus ticket. I would expect the real story is that she refused to pay more for the fare than it cost. The bus driver likely did not have the capacity to make change for her and she got stubborn.

Perfectly willing to being proved wrong though.

I'm inclined to think you're right.

Good time for some of that "officer's descretion" stuff we hear about sometimes..

Exactly ^ ... this is a total 'non-story', pumped up by the media!

Exact change for a bus ride is that way in most cities across Canada and N.A. ... bus drivers do/can not give change. All she had to do was drop her 5 dollar bill in the box slot, the driver would have given her a bus pass, and all would be well. Riders having to over-pay for a bus pass because they don't have exact change (or a monthly bus pass) happens every day.

I think Mom needs a short lesson on how to properly use the transit system.
