Ruger, and others, has a couple of air rifles available each has a version that will fire a pellet at either 495 fps or 1000 fps.
I can understand why you would buy the version that fires the 495 fps version (PAL requirements etc.) Why would you want the 1000 fps version. Is there anything else to consider besides the fact that it will get there quicker? Is the 1000 fps version more accurate?
Please enlighten me.

The 1000fps has better range and knock down energy so if your using it for Magpies and other such pests they are way more effective than the under 500fps class. I've had good luck with them on Crows, Magpies etc

you need a pal to buy an air rifle rated over 500 ft/sec hence why most canadian tire stores only carry guns rated for less than 500

Bought a 495 fps handgun 3 years ago, lots of fun. Best part is the fed's don't have to know I have another gun.
