Default 357.mag/38.spl VS. 45Long Colt? VOTE

Hey everyone, I want to know how many of you prefer each cartridge in a Single Action revolver, and/or lever or pump action Winchester 73 / lightning style rifles. Keep in mind, 357 is around $30+ for a box, 38spl is $16-$28 per box, VS. 45LC being $45-$50 per box. (Boxes of 50 rounds) So, for cowboy action shooting, playing at the range, or whatever you do, which would you choose? Feel free to put why as well (besides price) Thanks!

44-40 because the rifle I would use is chambered for it as well, and it's also a classic round. Another is the .44 Russian, since that is what the S&W No. 3 New Model Russian was, and is, chambered in. And I want that pistol.

In a single action i would get the 44/40, simply because big is good, bigger is better!
A lever gun to match would be nice .
However , that is with a single action.
With a double action I would go with the 357.
I have owned all the cartridges mentioned in either single or double action.

L'il Shooter has a Ruger Vaquero in 38/357. Pleasant to shoot at the range with the 38's but has the ability to chuck in the 357's for other use....

My New Freedom Arms 97 in 357 is built and on the way to the dealer. That should tell you my preference. There is a lot of really cheap 38spl and 357 ammo on the Gunnutz EE,I just bought 1000 rounds of 38spl,and 500 of 357 myself.38 spl is going for as low as $340 shipped per 1000,with 357 as low as $250 shipped per 500.
