Default Browning dura touch and sako soft touch

I was recently looking into a new gun purchase, and thought back to holding the dura touch and soft touch guns (in store), and how nice they felt. After some brief research found that many owners of these rifles had problems with the stocks becoming sticky, even seen someone in the states was trying to take browning to court over it. Any soft touch or dura touch stock owners on here have any luck with these guns?

I had an SX-3 with the Dura Touch finish, and had no issues, but some people had issues after using certain cleaning solvents,or having insect repellent on their hands. As well, I have seen stains , after the dye from shooting gloves leeched into the fore end.

I’ve owned 3 Sako Finnlights, never had an issue with the soft touch going sticky. That being said, I sold all three because I just can’t warm up to a plastic stock on a $2k+ rifle. I almost bought a McMillan for one but couldn’t justify $1200 for a stock, I figured it would be money well spent going towards a rifle with a carbon fiber stock already attached.

My personal experience (Finnlight, Xbolt, and A7) has been that the black ones scuff more easily than a traditional synthetic stock. Just my 2 cents. It would make me avoid them in the future unless it was a screaming deal.

Default Stocks

I have a MacMillan on my 6.5. It's nice, but costly.

Most of my rifles are the original wood stocks. I'm more of a traditionalist.

Can only speak to the Browning duratouch. I find that if it gets wet it will be kind of tacky for a while until it dries but it never stays that way.
When scratched the coating will scrape off and the more is scratched off the easier it becomes for finish to come off.

Thanks fellas, think I'll avoid those type of stocks. They just felt so damn nice. That sticky feel would drive me know crazy if it ever did develop.
