Default Fred Bear Hunting Dangerous Game film.

I thought the younger archers might want to watch the kind of old hunting shows that us oldtimers grew up watching. Actually, the film is neat to see again so some oldtimers might enjoy it too.

Fred Bear is legendary with a recurve. He is in the Archery Hall of Fame.

Here is one of Fred Bear's old hunting shows. Enjoy. There are more on youtube. * note Fred's hunting hat. haha

Hard to wrap my mind around an arrow having the penetration to take down an elephant, especially that old equipment. Interesting to watch old hunts, thanks for posting.

Saw him on the American Sportsman take his elephant and a Kodiak bear back in the early 60's , he was the reason I took up the bow - I even wore a Borsalino hat for years!
His stone sheep kill was epic , he had to short draw the bow to get that one!
Although I never met him , I consider Fred Bear to be one of the greatest influences of my hunting career .

I liked the pace of the video compared to the shows of today. Trying to hype up every scene and make it an adrenaline rush is predictable. I also appreciate how it wasn’t going on and on about expensive gear and how great he is as the hunter.
Wait, was he wearing first lite fusion pattern way back then? Lol

I've been watching some of these Hunts on YouTube very interesting lots of poor placement shots it seems but they get the animal. these guys must have been really good shots to shoot at sheep on the run and bears caribou.

Very amazing how that old equipment worked and now you have to have 40,000fps, 10,000ft/lbs or energy with 20 grain arrows that have a 500 grain broad head with a 6" cutting diameter to even think about a rabbit at 1 yard, let alone a moose at 40 yards.

Well, according to the TV shows at least, lol.
