Default Calgary judge orders that dogs be destroyed

Two years after 86 year old Betty Ann Williams was mauled to death in the alley behind her house, a Calgary judge rules that the remaining 2 of the 3 dogs involved be put down.

All I can say is "It's about time."
I cannot imagine how terrible this poor woman's last minutes were.

Quote:
"All three dogs were attacking Ms. Williams and participated in causing her horrific injuries," said Fraser.

"These dogs should not be returned to the community because they are a high risk and danger to the public," said Fraser.

Owner who fled Quebec to keep his banned dogs should be charged with manslaughter. What a POS.

Something wrong with the owner first for owning dogs like that and for not getting the dogs put down right after it happened

The whole case stinks, the dogs should have been destroyed immediately after the attack and owner jailed, it tells you where our priorities are these days.

The owner is who needs to be put down. He probably has obtained more nasty unpredictable dogs after the killer dogs were taken away...thats just how those types are.

But those dogs were trying to turn their lives around. Just misunderstood and victims of the patriarchy.

There was no fooling around with a viscous dog when I was a kid on our farm , during the 1960’s , one of our little neighbour girls got bit badly by our dog , my mom had to take her to the hospital to get stitches, my dad never said anything, except got the .22 rifle , took the dog behind the barn , and bang , case closed

Pit bulls are 6% of the dog population but commit 60% of all attacks. Defective breed. Junk. Should be tossed into the trash.

And prophylactic MAID should be offered to pit bull owners.

Pitbulls are like conceled carry IMO; while not inherently flawed, a large percentage of the people most enthusiasticly in favor are the exact types of people who shouldnt own such dogs, or cary handguns in public places.

I used to think that way until some losers abandoned a young pitbull at our acreage a couple of winters back. Anyway, we took the dog in, showed him a heaping of love, and he has been the most friendly and caring dog we've ever owned. My wife and I have never felt uncomfortable around him or have any fears when company is over. He does get a little protective and will alert us to any strange vehicles that drive into our yard or the odd bear or coyote that passes through but I don't see that as a negative!

That being said the breed does seem to attract less than stellar model citizens as owners. I think in most cases it's the owners who should be tossed into the trash. Treat these dogs as weapons or mean working dogs and that's exactly what they can become.

Every pit bull is a ticking time bomb.

Two seconds of googling:

Irredeemable.
