Default SeekOutside Outrageous Shipping

Hey Everyone,
Not sure if I'm the only that got ordered from SeekOutside lately but I wanted to order the new Glass Door for my SeekOutside wood stove, The Door itself is 65US which is high but really wanted to get the 11 OZ Glass door. So I went to check out and they wanted 45USD just to ship the darn little Glass door. I couldn't imagine how much they would charge if you actually shipped something with some weight.

So? What do you want? It's called a decision. Don't buy it.

The owner is a hard charging liberal anyway.

$45 USD is what you can expect. I’m surprised it’s that cheap actually.

Shipping sucks and it has nothing to do with the company

I am shipping out packages to eastern Canada and US multiple times a week cost for a small package with tracking is 20$-30$. Just to send 1 large pike lure to Sask was 16$

unfortunately I'm a terrible compulsive buyer so I ordered the glass door to then get a 14 dollar customs charge oh well I look forward to using the new glass door in tipi tent, just thought 45USD was a little steep for something that weighed 11OZ.

Unfortunately, shipping costs have sky rocketed anywhere and everywhere, most times the shipping costs out way the cost of the item you are shipping

Go pick it up yourself, and save all that shipping money.

Gear Trade in Okotoks is a SO dealer. Probably save some money buying thru them.

But…. This is true.

If shipped as a present up to a certain amount$$ you can have the customs waived.

It’s all nuts. I’ve refrained from purchasing lots of stuff because of outrageous shipping costs

It is crazy, ordering powder or primers online is getting beyond the reach of most unless you make a very large order. Regular shipping is just as stupid.

I just shipped a small item to Calgary , 3 hrs away . It weighed about a lb and was in a 8x8x10 box. Cost me $30. Pretty hard to ship anything for under $30.

It’s all reflective of the cost of fuel and that’s not getting any cheaper .

Powder has the added issue of being considered a Hazmat item. Only a few carriers will even ship it.

I went down quite the rabbit hole researching Seek Outside. From what I've found, I've decided my business will go elsewhere as my values align differently.

With respect to shipping, yep, it's getting more and more expensive!

Since the " invention " of covid people have decided that it's really easy and convenient to sit at home in their lounger jammies with their iPhone and click away ordering everything from groceries to cars to be delivered to their door step, so why is it such a surprise that shipping rates have doubled, supply and demand drives free enterprise, add to that huge increases in fuel and at some point everything ends up on a truck, everybody want's their slice of the pie. the end is nowhere in sight.

I just did the same, I will avoid doing business with them, just as I avoid MEC.

I doubt that is accurate, it's not just supply and demand. We order lots of stuff through Amazon prime, free shipping. With the value of some of the things we order the shipping should double the cost but it doesn't.

It's more likely the post office or other shippers are just gouging us, just shipping gifts to the granddaughters puts a big dent in the old pension checks.

I was looking at Hammer bullets for my 20 cal wildcat. A box of 31 grain copper bullets (100 pcs) is $75 which is high but .... Get the shipping quote - $50.91 That's all U.S. dollars. Ugh little too high total for me

Super happy with my liteoutdoors tent and stove if you're looking for a supplier other than seek. Alberta as well
