MDMA (ecstasy) has been used to also treat PTSD

What if everything you think you've experienced since the 70's is really just one really long trip...........
Sorry, its a very slow day here

Not sure about all the other drugs but if it wasn't for LSD we wouldn't have the technology we have today.. Steve Jobs and other internet gurus were getting high when they came up with this internet s**t and cell phones.
The government was afraid of LSD because it opens doors that they didn't want opened.
A Steve Jobs quote: “Taking LSD was a profound experience, one of the most important things in my life. LSD shows you that there’s another side to the coin, and you can’t remember it when it wears off, but you know it. It reinforced my sense of what was important—creating great things instead of making money, putting things back into the stream of history and of human consciousness as much as I could.”

I would guess most of these kind of drugs would make a person loopy as all heck, very interesting. I have a smiley face my child made for me I look at everyday that I named Wilson. I wonder if this qualifies me as mentally ill maybe some ecstasy would make him talk back to me.

A young man on acid walked into a dentist's office and said, " Can you help me? I think I'm a moth."
The dentist said, "You don't need a dentist. You need a psychiatrist."
"Yes, I know," the man said.
The dentist asked, "So then why did you come in here?"
The man replied, "The light was on."

Once they look into it, they will probably find benefits like they did with marijuana. Bad news for the pill pushers.

PubMed is a good starting point for anyone who want to do their own research about medical issues. Don't expect your doctor to know about treatments that aren't from a big drug company.

A few years back I watched a Documentary on the use of LSD to treat Cluster type Migraine head aches ,they filtered the active Psycho ingredients out before administering it, amazing how quickly it worked.
Similar to the reaction using CBD oils for the treatment of seizures.
They also were looking at increased creativity and concentration levels in Artists and the people in the Tech fields.
So many of our modern drugs came from plants Mother nature provides.
Like the old song goes "take a little trip and never leave the farm".
I remember seeing people lying on the green strip running between the entrance and exit highway to the Van. airport in the 70's during Mushroom season when I was driving the over pass from Richmond to Van. with their little plastic baggies ,one for the baggie ,one for me. lol

The mysterious case of the frozen junkies led to a better understanding of Parkinson's Disease.
William Langston was head of neurology at Santa Clara Valley Medical Center in 1982 when a drug offender was admitted who could neither move or talk.
He had been admitted from the county jail and initially treated as a malingerer but later admitted to the psychiatric unit with suspected catatonic schizophrenia. During an examination of the patient, Langston noticed his fingers moving, perhaps voluntarily, and wrapped them around a pencil. The patient began to write notes that indicated that his mind was normal but his body was not responding. He had taken heroin before the symptoms developed. Through coincidental personal connections and media presentations another 5 patients suffering the same symptoms were discovered. All had what appeared to be symptoms of advanced Parkinson's Disease.
In an attempt to save their lives Dr Langston administered L-dopa, a drug then recently introduced to treat Parkinson's Disease. The patients responded and could move and talk. (Unfortunately all six patients later developed severe side effects.)[13]
The common link between the patients was the batch of heroin they had taken. Medical and police research established that the batch of synthetic heroin all six patients had used contained a neurotoxic contaminant, MPTP.[14] MPTP (which sometimes taints MPPP, an effective synthetic opioid), is selectively toxic to the same nerve cells in the brain which die in Parkinson's disease, the substantia nigra. The discovery of the biologic effects of this compound led to a renaissance of the basic and clinical research in Parkinson's disease.

I don't know much about the effects of drugs, but would guess that for every acid hitter that turned into a Steve Jobs, 10 000 people have stuck a gun in their mouth during or after a trip. I don't understand the cause and effect relationships between suicide, mental health, and drug use, but there is certainly a correlation.

I personally will never take drugs, even if they turn you into Steve Jobs
Mostly because, well, Steve Jobs is dead.......
I sometimes see the “druggies” i knew from high school
That’ll do it.
But if someone else wants to snort, inject, smoke, shove, I say rock on.
If it helps your back, headache, arthritis, cancer, erection etc I say go right ahead.
