I used to use the 58grain vmaxes out of my .243, using H380 shot very well with this powder. Furthese yote taken was 400yards dopped on the spot. As far as pelt saving they work for that most of the time.

I'm no longer saving the pelts, so i moved up to a 90grain berger match bt, shoots awsome and still leaves a small hole in and out ( only shot one yote with the step up 150yards).

I have been using 62g Barnes Varmint grenades....IMR4831 shoots pretty nice and I think 44.5 grains of powder....Unfort, I have not had the pleasure of shooting varmints yet...only targets....
I am trying out some 87g horn vmax, however have no settled on a load...
Really love the 243, bought a Rem700 at the Calg gunshow last year for my wife....and I can't put it down....
