Default Zastava MP 22

I was thinking of picking Up one of these rimfire rifles.
Does anybody have any experience with thes rifles, or am I better to bite the bullet and buy a CZ?

I had one which i was very fond of, well built beauty, very accurate. Only one problem, the extraction system. Tried to contact Zastava on this problem, No response back.

i had one in 22 mag, but it kept swelling the brass near the rim, and wouldn't eject worth beans. it was a really nice little rifle and if it hadn't had problems, i would definitely have kept it.

i think it shot every bit as well as my cz452

I have heard that a few had FTE problems. Might be better off looking for a CZ.

My boy has one, shoots very well.
The extraction problem is very widespread, and well known.
There’s a fairly simple fix, which I found through a google search, where you either replace the extractor springs with tougher ones, or use a small ball bearing to increase the spring tension.

Default choices

You might want to see if you can find a Rem model 5 for sale, these were Zastava's in a Rem laminate stock. Beauty little rifles, no extraction issues...FS

I think the Charles Daly, and cz99 were the same as well, all difficult to find though.

I have one and absolutely love it. I haven't owned a CZ but I kept the zastava and sold my Ruger American Rimfire so that says something.

only complaint is the magazines can be a wee bit fussy to seat, mine came to me used with a 5rnd and 10rnd mag

bluing and wood are both exceptional for the price, accuracy is stellar. This also goes for my 6.5x55 zastava m70 which has a 3 way adjustable trigger that I love
