Default Wood Door Paint Advice

Hey guys,

Currently have a white painted wood door leading into the garage that I am looking to re-due into something that fits the "man-cave" look inside. I was thinking about coating it in Line-x or something along those lines and putting a nice kick plate on the bottom but the Line-x quote I got back was pretty steep. Any wood working professionals out there that could provide me some suggestions on how to achieve that type of look without spending +$500?

Thanks!

If you're really intent on that look you could try looking at the Rustoleum Truck Bed Spray kit they use to sell at Canadian Tire.
They offered a box of the stuff that you sprayed on and it would be a fraction of the cost.
Can't speak to its' longevity though, but really any paintable undercoating that is rubber and not asphalt based would give you the look you want.
