In this day and age the grain farmers are sitting in big air conditioned tractors and combines that require a computer course to operate. 50 years ago farmers were sitting on smaller tractors that many didn't even have a cab. So it's a different kind of tough today.

On the tune you shared hopefully the farmers will be able to finish harvest and can go see Murray. He will be touring Alberta. Oct. 24th thru to Nov.1.

Great song. I remember driving home from goose hunts with dad and the uncles and stubble fires burning all around us and this song on the AM radio.

I like Try Walking Away by him also.

I spent endless rounds on cabless 2 cylinder John Deere’s ... decided that life was not for me. After becoming a teacher, I spent a career listening to (some) farmers (who had never choked dust or thrown a 60 lb bale) complain about how tough their rows were to hoe compared with my cushy new life. Anybody know of any old teacher songs

Thought about "To Sir With Love" or "Hot for Teacher" to better summarize your experience but you probably heard them too many times from your classes.
