I have been in on A LOT of bear kills no lack of knowledge on the subject. Pulled many bears out of nasty holes as well as dropped bears in their tracks loading them up with ease.

It’s hunting things are not always smooth
Aint that the truth I hunted moose and caribou all over nfld for over 30 years...In the case of The bear camp the tree stands are placed in well though out location, with a clear and easy shot provided,at an average 25m shot from a 18 ft tree stand--You can for the most part hit the bear anywhere you want---Hit the bear in the shoulder,he will drop--then your trophy is hanging on the rack for pictures.

Bears on the rack? How about bears on your back?

I set my stands 8-10 feet high and 8-10 yards.
I've seen plenty of misses.

Shot a decent handful myself, and lately only Big Boys on Vancouver Island. Big as in the one two years ago went damn near 600 pounds, and the one last year was over 500 (7'7" and 7'2" respectively).

Both were boiler roomed at around 30 yards.
With 150 grain Nosler Partitions from my 270.
Neither made it 50 yards...

Yes every year, people have told me they missed from 25m up our 18ft tree stands--I write it off to buck fever, jitters

Terrific bear rug! Where are you making your cuts along the legs to get such an awesome square shape?
