Default Zama Hunt Help

Hey everyone! My hunting buddy drew a Zama Bison tag and we’re heading up in December to take a crack at it.

Since a 10 hour trip one way in the winter is a pretty difficult scouting mission we’re trying to sort out as much as possible from home. I was wondering if anyone here has hunted there before and can provide any insight on the experience. How difficult is the herd to track down, anything unique about the hunt, the location, etc.

Don’t really know where to start with e-scouting, is there any good vantages available to glass from…

Anything and everything is welcome. Thanks!! DMs welcome and we’d be happy to even meet up and just chat with anyone whose had the fortune of drawing in the past

Grrrr I so wanted that tag! Good luck to you and your buddy!

Take 3 people, one to stay with the truck.

I used to work up there a lot and just travel that hyw between Zama and High level in winter . You would always see them about 100 yards beside the hyw. I would just road hunt every lease road off that hyw . Just bring a lot of fuel with you and talk to the truckers on that road. If you have one of those two way road radios that truckers and oil field trucks have use , that would help talking to every trucker in the area
