Default Cabelas Out of Stock

Has anyone ordered something from the Cabelas website and then got a message that what they ordered is in fact out of stock? My order seemed to go through without a hitch, got the confirmation email and everything but now when I look at what I bought in the store it says its completely sold out, just wondering if I got the last one or if I'm going to end up shopping again tomorrow

I had this happen ordering the rocky mountain wolf howler. I assumed that someone purchased the last one on the shelf as I was making my order. I don't think they keep separate stock for online purchases.

There Costumer Service is usually not too bad.
I'd suggest giving them a call.
Although if you received the Confirmation Notice via E,mail, that usually means it is on the way.

Worth the call to put your mind at ease methinks...

Cheers,
Nog

I have ordered quite a few things that were out of stock in the stores and in stock online. I have also ordered and checked the next day to get one for my dad and they were out of stock. All packages showed up at my door.

Three letters!
S
A
P

The same three letters that sunk Target stores in Canada.

Yup, had this exact situation happen with a rifle I was buying for my son. They showed two left in stock in Canada - one in Edmonton South, one in Barrie. Placed the order online, a day or so later I get a message they're out of stock. Spoke w CS & the Barrie one went to an in-store pickup, the Edmonton one was phantom inventory.

In fact, Cabala's drives me nuts on this point. Several times, I've been looking to buy an item. Depending on their website to indicate whether something's in stock is pointless, calling and getting a stock check isn't successful, going in to have someone sift around in the back is frustrating. Generally the surest way to a less-than-frustrating stock experience with them is to with the in-store pickup route. It really seems as if it's pretty much designed this way & comments from staff pretty much confirm this.

Whats in stock online or in this instance out of stock online and in stores are 2 different things.

Warehouse is in Calgary now and thats where mailorder/online sales ship from I believe.

I've had this happen. I order a fly tying vise and he next day it said it was "back ordered". Calgary inventory said they had 7 but again phantom inventory. I called them several times about it and could never get a clear answer. This went in for a few months. Then the last time I called they said the vise had been at the store for almost 2 weeks and I didn't get a notification. I've personally decided not to use Cabela's online ordering at all. I like going to their store though. One of my favourites.
