Lobster!!
For all you east coast guys.
Can you recomend a easy lobster dipping sauce?
We are haveing a large Lobster fest tonight and I cant remember if you serve it with plain butter or Garlic butter?
Do you have a better dip than just butter?
Remember it has to be easy to make as we have ordered 70 of them.
Thanks
Jamie

Over here they were on sale $8.47/lb last week. Regular 9.99
There was a day where a kid who brought a lobster sandwich to school would hide it in fear of being made fun of for being poor. Now they're worth their weight in gold
In all seriousness for the price I'd go for snow and king crab.Lobster's alright but I can't fathom paying that much for them.
I'll take a steak

In North America prior to the 20th century, local lobster was not a popular food. In the Maritimes, eating lobster was considered a mark of poverty. In some parts of the Maritime provinces of Canada, lobster was used as a fertilizer for farmers' fields, and a great deal of lobster was fed to slaves or the lower members of society. Outside of the rural outports lobster was sold canned, losing much of its flavour, which can be disguised if the lobster is dipped in drawn butter.

Ok, ok you can't go wrong with garlic butter

My late mother wouldn't eat shrimp or lobster if it was the last thing on earth. She was a student nurse in a northern German hospital during the really dark days after WWll ended. There was very little food to be had, so the local fishermen supplied the hospital with that part of their catch, nobody else wanted. I was just thinking of what these things fed on. As an added treat, someone fed her Doberman once without her knowledge. My wife, the horse lover, keeps telling the story of how a bunch of her mother's neighbors stole some Russian officer's horse and converted it into steaks and roasts. to make sure nobody squealed, they had to share their prize with the entire apartment block. Ah, Life is so hard!

Two years ago I got em for $6 per lb off the fisherman in Terrance Bay. They have gone up considerably.
Melted butter is the norm. You can add parsley and a little fresh dill if it suites your taste buds. Garlic is not normally a shellfish spice, too strong. Delicate spices are better suited for seafood.

The funny thing about Sea food is, that it has no taste.
PEOPLE DON'T LIKE SEA FOOD, THEY LIKE GARLIC AND BUTTER!
