NHL: Offseason trades and the draft
Lots of interesting rumors flying around, some are already true. Others... who knows.
Flames: New coach, no more Zyuzin and picked up Adrian Aucoin, signed Boyd more to come... I hope
Im unsure about the new coach, perhaps he can whip em into shape
But with Aucoin coming in I cannot see keeping both Hammer and Stuart. Personally I say keep Stuart.
Oilers: No news to speak of
Later tonight, the draft begins.
And Rumors im not entirely fond of
Flames to trade Tanguay, I think this one is BS. I want him to stick around
and Ryan Smyth to Calgary ???? I thought this was a no mullet zone ? Although as much as I hated him in Edm he would be one hell of a center.
Anyone else following this ? I know its summer but I still love hockey.

Leafs signed Vesa Toskala from the Sharks.....that should be a decent addition to the goal-line for sure.....

Baulde,
Great funny pic...but too bad its about 5 years old......not the same affect anymore.....
Proud to be a fan of a team with no bandwagon, no '1 year fans', and a fan of a team that sells out year after year.....when the Flames had troubles keepin their building half full. I'm from Calgary and could easily have jumped the bandwagon.....but I didnt....
Either way....Leafs beat the Flames last year....and they'll do it again this year....

Leafs did good getting Toskala. They also got Mark Bell who i think will play really well if he has someone to play with.
AA is way better then Zyuzin as long as he can stay heathy.
That swedish kid Backland is going to be a hell of a NHL player and i wait for him to make the team.
Oiler's messed up passing on the Russian kid(i wont even try to spell his name)
I hear Drury is out there, this is someone the oiler's need to get or Redden for some leadership,

Trev,
Everytime you do a hockey post you do this same statement, makes me think you might be the bandwagon jumper.

With Mike Keenan leading our boys, we shall be a force to be reckoned with next season.
Whats a bandwagon? Been a Flames fan since I was in the womb.

I wonder why Calgary is busy makeing changes but yet Edmonton is standing still..
Perhaps they are busy knocking the dust off those banners from last century?
And who the heck was that guy Ed drafted in the 6th spot? One sport show just RIPPED the Oil a new one for that pick.
YAY... Snozin is gone. What a way to dump him. Talk about giving up nothing and getting Gold in return.

Yea, I make that statement a lot....its just something I've noticed after watching Flames attendance in the 90's....it was a joke....practically no fans....
Hate bandwagons, and not afraid to say it.....
Anyways.....I mainly like pumpin my Leafs.....and I'll look forward to them teachin the Alberta teams a lesson this year....

Definition of 'Bandwagon':
"A spoke-wheeled cart, towed by a stout team of oxen, that carried the Omp-pa-pa band that marshelled the Stanley Cup parade the last time the leafs won the Cup"!

Trev, just kidding ya man. I've been an Oilers fan since the year they came into the league. Despite everything, I am still an Oilers fan (an unhappy one, but that goes with the territory).
Although I hate toronto, and the leafs, I respect anyone who sticks by their team good or bad...that's a fan.
My great-great-great grandfather was a leafs fan. I remember reading his memoirs about how he was at the game when the leafs won their last cup. He said it was the best day ever! He had just finished driving the 'Last Spike' for the CPR and then went to the final game.......

And now it begins. Just think of Alberta as a 2 story outhouse, Edmonton being on top. NUF said.
