Default Oldman River Reservoir

Anyone been there this spring? We've never fished it but thought we'd take a run down there sometime in the next week or two with the boat.

Are the launches in good shape? Anything else we should be on the lookout for?
Thanks!!

Default July 12 update

Went down there Sunday. Launches are really good. Wind app said 30 gusting to 40, could have added 20 easy by mid-aft . We unloaded in the north fork, calm sheltered bay.

Ran the lake all the way to the west end, played in the Crowsnest a bit. Wind wasn't full bore yet, as advertised, so we hit the south side all the way down to the Castle.

When we came out of the south side, the wind was screeching nine-oh. We crossed over to the north side, made a run for the launch.

Exploring trip, sight-seeing, will be back. Very pretty. Never did drop a line in the water, have no idea on the fishing

Thanks for the report, sure do not miss the so. ab. wind.

Question< how did you get to north launch? Did you go down 22 or around the pincher way on 3?

We went down QE11 to 3 then headed west to the second access west-bound(Paving on 22 so we took the boring route). Stopped & checked out Windy Point launch, very usable but thought we'd keep looking.

Went around the east side(couple K max)north, then west to Island View launch. Another well-built, well-maintained launch.

Thought we'd keep looking, North Fork is only couple more K west, nice calm spot without much traffic. Unloaded & sure glad we did.

Good paved roads all the way. Quite pretty valleys, really looking forward to getting back & getting the hooks wet.
