Default Alcohol on a boat

I have recently purchased a 22ft Crestliner LFi Angler Edition Pontoon Boat and have been hearing different stories about alcohol allowed on the boat in Alberta but havent been able to find any solid rules on-line. I have been told that there can be alcohol on board as long as it is 22ft, has a toilet (porta pottie) and a stove (bar-b-q). I never drink and boat but would be nice to have some drinks on the boat for the guests. If anybody knows for a fact that this is correct could you let me know. Thanks!

I think you will require sleeping accomidations and a **** house. If you do get stopped you do have the right to ask the officer to surrender his weapon prior to boarding your vessel for the safety of you the "captain" and your crew no different than navel law from what i understand. The weapon must be surrendered to the captain or a warrent would be needed in order to search the vessel.
Try it out and let me know how you fair.

On top of the above you have to be docked for the night and only then does it become your residence.

Drinking and driving kills far too many motorists but on the lake it's illegal to have a beer while fishing

I suppose everyone's supposed to sip water on their party boats

It only takes one idiot to screw it up for everyone else.

Yea and that is why you need to have a boat licence by 2009 period. That is part of the reason we need to take a boat course....boat crashes and booze
