I was really happy with JRs in Edmonton. Really great guy that made me comfortable. His shop is absolutely immaculate. He uses Xpel not 3m.

Default Mings

I had Ming ceramic coat and xpel my Golf R last year, and they did an amazing job! I used the downtown location. Not a swirl on that car.

Bought my own 3M professional kit from EBay and installed it myself. 300USD vs 1200+ at the local shop. However the hood was not that easy... Next one will be now that I have done it. Fenders, mirrors, grille etc were not nearly as scary.
Lots of good YouTube help.

Yeah except you got cheap ass Ebay quality. I bought Xpel for my spouses explorer and that alone was $500 in just materials but xpel is the industry leader.

OP clearly doesn't wanna do it himself.

Not to mention warranty. My Xpel bubbled a bit, dropped it off and got my loaner, they redid the entire bumper in a few hours

I can understand not wanting to try this yourself because it is a daunting task. I thought putting $800 in my pocket for a day's work was pretty decent.

I won't agree that 3M Scotchgard pro film is cheap ass quality, however.

Doing it this method will always depend on your standards. Some people DIY paint protection are satisfied with what they do. Many others that look at it may see areas that are short or uncovered. Excessive stretch marks or many people dont wrap the front leading edge of the hood ect. Everyone will have different expectations on whats "good enough"
Some people like to leave it to a professional which offers a quality film and a good warranty.

DIY's sometimes have to pay to get it redone because the film is failed or completely yellow. Some bad films are very harmful to the paint when having it removed as well.
