Default Sexist adds from the past

Oh my Gawd, I cannot believe this really happened. To a male it's funny but it helps understand where the women s movement came from. My wife almost lost her mind.

I remember all of those and if any woman to day feels out of touch, too bad, but that was the way of thinking in those days, not saying it was right, but that was the way of thinking.

"Freshen up your flaps and stop it stinking like an old kipper."

I don't know what to say to that.

Ha! Pretty funny but good to see we've evolved somewhat since then. Having said that, the Stewardess ad makes me think of restaurants like Joey and how their hiring policies seem to be somewhat selective. Could be coincidence of course.

That definitely is a pearl! The top right hand corner of the ad is interesting too! I can read "Rite, I hope she's scrubbed her twat"

I hate those

Too many “men” still alive that believe that crap

The world will be a bit better when that generation is dead. All of them. .
The men who think it, and the women who follow it.

Nothing more unattractive than a lack of confidence

Things have changed for sure.
I work at a business that has been around since 1948. A while back we found a job application from the mid 50's.
Two of the questions that just seemed so out of place on a job application:
-do you have more than one alcoholic beverage a day?
-do you get along well with your wife?
Can you imagine that today?

As sexist as those adds are they are but a product of marketing. First you make a woman feel bad about her appearance and then you sell her a product to deal with the "issue" that you've just created. A two-bit strategy to say the least.

I do not recall seeing anything remotely similar to those adds that came out of the USSR during the same time period...

Our whole society and culture was conditioned since the 60's by the TV. It started with the kids...

If your mom grew up in the 60's this might explain some of her habits..
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jh4OXJC8ebo
And commercials even became creepy towards girls. The "soul knob" is where they learned how to control men.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sZWL8WSAETY

And the boys... The 1:50 minute mark has to be one of the coolest toys.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IQ-h1idHuKA

* in the commercials there are a few kids you might recognize that became big actors and actresses.

And kids were conditioned by fairy tales before that. For example, Beauty and the Beast let's young girls know that when their parents arranged a marriage to a rich old creep, she could learn to love him.

LOL, hilarious

Doesn't offend me at all Different times. Can't wait to see (in my next life) how folks look back on what's up today and shake their heads!

I don’t really see anything sexist about those adds. Wash your cooter or it stinks is pretty sage advice then and now.
