Well the Jets are likely overconfident now, but it may be a little late to spring the trap.

I enjoyed watching the Oilers last year even when they lost,,it was entertaining, they tried hard even losing. This year back to the last 10 years, just sucking and no entertainment value

Well that sucked ...! That was ‘decade of darkness effort’.

Now we’re five points behind them red bastards....

Mo needs an orange jersey.

Happy new year.....

I was at the game. Took my brother inlaw who had never been to an NHL game before. I felt bad and promised to bring him to another one.

What a terrible effort. The Oilers had 2 good shifts all night and they were both by the the Strome line. Jets looked really impressive and they are missing their best defense man and forward.

Happy New Year Everyone!

Yup, shut out at home by a team missing it's two best players. Can you say Stanley Cup contender, not?!

You Shaddap!

You’ll see.. we just need time to regroup.

Trade Maroon. Tell Lucic to start striking fear into others. Hit, hit, hit, hit, fight.

No one is afraid of retribution from us anymore.

The Cassian experiment is done.

Sit Benning in the press box and switch him out with Davidson.

Double shift Nuge and Drai on the wings with McJeses

Yes..... Nuge on the wing every 4th 5th shift

You’ll see

Please god fix the penalty kill...

Locker room conflicts man..... they’ll kill ya.

Well Kucherov had more points in 2017 than McFaded.

Lucic scares no one. He is slow and only tough when the opposing player is smaller than him. Been that way all his career. Sure glad the Oilers have him locked up for another 5 years at $6 mil per year. What a bargain!

I’ve never seen a NHL who struggle this bad to breakout of their own zone. Instead of making the tape to tape pass they rim it around the wall into he wingers feet causing a turnover majority of the time.

Benning had 4 major giveaways in his first 3 shifts, one ended up in the back of the net. And how do they answer back after that goal?! By putting his butt back out there to do it again..

Powerplay?! That’s an embarrassment too. You have all this “talent” and all they do is cycle it on mcdavids wall down low to drai for the cross crease pass. Everyone knows it and every team defends it with ease. They have no shot threat anywhere on the PP.

Not one individual is to blame, nearly everyone including the coaching staff are struggling and it’s only going to get worse as the schedule gets tougher.

I’d rather Gryba over Benning and Davidson.

I'd hardly blame McDavid for any of this. Top 10 in scoring, second best +/- on the team, is a top three in drawing penalties in the league, etc.

Maybe, maybe not. Just think for a second, if he didn't play on a bottom five team....

I agree with everything you say except that no one is to blame.

Taylor Hall and Jordan Eberle have better numbers than everyone on the Oilers that isn't named McDavid. These are close to a point a game players that actually wanted to play here.

Anyone that would consider Lucic, Maroon or Strome a better addition to your hockey club should not be allowed to watch a game let alone manage a team.

A couple of years back the Oilers had a dreadful team but were still able to put one of the best scoring lines in hockey together Hall, Eberle and Nugent-Hopkins. Obviously this was a one line wonder that consisted of the majority of the team's talent but they still won some games. The power play was at times unstoppable.

Imagine having McDavid, Puljujarvi and anyone that isn't named Lucic (preferably with some skating ability and does not choke on the puck every time he is set up alone in front) on line one.

The above mentioned Hall, Eberle and Nugent-Hopkins on line two.

Leon Draisaitl, Pitlick, Khaira or Caggiula on the third line.

Lucic, Maroon, Kassian, Letestu or anybody else that is willing to show some effort on line four where they belong or trade the lot for a good 4th line with some grit.

You obviously wouldn't have Larson but the rest of the team would be there.

In a year or two as the defense matured + or - a new D guy and you have a contender.

I have been an Oilers fan for a long time and this is the worst I have seen. I would rather watch a poor team loose with effort than this bunch win.

I watch a lot of hockey and high lights. The Flames, Jets, Leafs and even the Canucks play with more heart and are better entertainment to watch.

If you haven't guessed yet, I blame Peter Chiarelli.

Hmmm okay, let us think of Marcel Dionne who played on all those Kings teams.

The team should not be a bottom five team if he is this so called McJesus!

The fact you had to go back to a player that retired from the NHL in 1989 to try to prove your point is telling. Also, the Kings were making the playoffs, And advancing, before Marcel was traded there, So what exactly is your point? A good player was traded to a playoff team and he made them better Isn't exactly drawing a lot of parallels to a team in the bottom five for a decade drafting a good player.

But carry on, if you don't think McDavid is one of the best players on the planet, I'm not going to convince you.

So how does a team with so many first round draft picks not improve?
