One of my bowhunting heroes, and one of the best hunting writers ever. I always admired and respected Dwight for not only his skill as a writer, but his ethical stance. He was editor of Bowhunter magazine for many years and when he retired in 2009, so I have read, was diagnosed with multiple Myeloma - cancer from exposure to Agent Orange in Vietnam. He still wrote in Bowhunter after retiring and his columns were what I looked forward to most in the magazine.
Was a decent writer, had some good articles. Took a bit of heat here and there, but, they all do at one time or another, he wrote about what he knew about and thought about things.

Rest in Peace Mr Schuh. Thanks for your words and excellent, thought provoking articles. You were an inspiration to many bowhunters. Cheers to a life well lived.
I bought The Bowhunter's Encyclopaedia written by Dwight Schuh a very long time ago. I still refer to it today. I loved his stuff. I dreamed of hunting with him one day. I guess I will have to wait until I get to the happy hunting grounds. God speed good man!!
Sad day indeed...almost bought a couple Llamas to use as pack animals from reading his insight on them.
