Default Allison Dam or Chinook Lake

Growing up in the pass we always called it Allison Dam but on the signs and map it is Chinook Lake. Was there yesterday and noticed the water level is down about 15 to 20 feet. With all the melt I would have thought it would be high. Does the fish hatchery pipe water from the dam to the hatchery all winter and that is why it is low or is there another reason?
North Allison creek which does not go to the dam has lots of water flowing in it.

Had a reply that the fish hatchery does pipe water from the dam all winter and that is why it is low. Plus with a lower snow pack this winter that probably adds to it as I have noticed some sloughs that normally have lots of water in them are only about 1/4 full. Hope we do not have a dry summer.

Was there May long, lake is very low. I've seen it lower only once, the tree standing on the far side of the lake is our indicator, I have a picture of my wife standing next to it and she wasn't standing in water. There are mud flats on the west end of the lake, last year we kayaked there.
