What is your favourite custom action for a long range build and why?

When I built my last full custom I used a Defiance Deviant LB RP. I thought Tikka actions were smooth until I bought this. Integrated lug and rail. I’m not sure how it could be improved.

Mine is the Bighorn Arms SR3 cut for the Wyatt's extended mag box, giving me enough room for the 28 Nosler and 195 Berger with about a 3.74" COAL. Swappable bolt heads, mechanical injection, CRF, savage small shank thread, and DLC coated.

I think almost any custom action will make you happy. Look for features that you like and price. I like my Defiance and Bordens, but a there's nothing wrong with a trued 700 either.

I run a KS arms action out of Edmonton. Good support and from a Canadian company. Quite smooth with rail, haven't had any problems with mine. The 3 lugs are quite nice.

I think one model was designed with input from F-class. If looking to purchase another action, no doubt I would go with a KSA. Don't know if it became a feature, but a buddy said there was some talk about opposing springs incorporated into the firing pin. Essentially a push-pull movement whch would have potential to reduce the upset ...

Any of the action makers who have been making actions full time for the past 15+ years are hard to beat. Lots of want-a-b makers.....over priced. To bad the dollar wasn't on par....see the bandits close their doors on over priced product.

I've run it hard in PRS shooting (~1800 rounds right now) as well as the long action for hunting (~250 rounds), its very solid. Used dry lube and it runs quite smooth. For the money I'd give it a 9, but the customer service is beyond awesome. They will bend over backwards to make things right.

I believe they come to the Easter Calgary gun show so you can fondle them there. If you ever make your way down here I can show you my 284win in the wolverine 2lug action or my 6mm Dasher in the KS arms 3lug.

Stopped at KS Arms and had a look at their actions, barrels and looks like high quality products, smooth and well made. If I had the $$'s I would try that Wolverine action for a hunting rig. AH one day??? Dealt with Karl for a number of years, and now Mike his son is on board too!! Good guy's
