Default Hot Water Tank Issues

Hey AO, never happens at a good time, spending money on a new roof, cant really afford a new hot water tank right now. Its ten years old, joh wood pro series 40 gal.

Before i call a pro, just trying trouble shoot.

The tank stops lighting almost daily? I re-light and it burns for about 5 minutes.... obviously not long enough to get water up to temp.

Just wondering if anyone has anythoughts?

Appreciate it.

Possibly the FVIR sensor. I forget what year JW stopped using that awful left handed thermocouple with the weird lump in the wire.

Please post a photo of the gas control on the tank.
