Default Deer movement right now

I was out looking at a couple properties today for hunting potential. Underestimated how much snow there was. Very hard even with snowshoes.

What I noticed is to way to many coyotes, good numbers of moose moving but zero deer tracks. I haven't spent much time out this time of year. Is this normal as they are just not moving due to deep snow? Can't blame them. Maybe they yard up in farmers yards?

Either that or the proper are not great.

Anyone else been out recently? North of edmonton btw.

Deer are all in herds. Find one you will find a bunch.

Night before last I counted 73 white tails in a field and that’s not counting the ones I couldn’t see behind the hills. A qtr mile north of this field I saw another bunch and quit counting at 60.

With this hard pack snow we have now the coyotes are killing a lot. Next time take your rifle and help the deer out

Was chatting with a friend on this. According to him, he has never seen as many deer out in years. He is out on the east side of the province

Thanks guys. Appears they are all herded up likely where the snow is more favorable.

I sure wish I had a gun with me. Put eyes on a few of the coyotes without even trying.

We have about a dozen in our subdivision, they like the cracked corn that I put out for them. Save a deer fond / shoot a coyote.
