I've hunted antelope in WY and AB. Apples and oranges. When you draw a tag in AB you have a very good chance of filling it..........you just have to wait for it. I can't recommend any changes to make it better.

It’s managed poorly because even if an event happens that hammers the population. The hunt numbers are unchanged. The antelope draws are released later than other species with the idea idea that they are checking animal surveys. Which isn’t the case. Antelope hunting is awesome! Everywhere else but in alberta though

Then why are the antelope draws released later? Duplicity you're saying?

It's better everywhere else because antelope outnumber people (let alone hunters).

Antelope is right up there with Whitetail hunting for me...some of the best memories made are scouting for them and not the hunt itself....

I was right beside my dad last fall when he took a B&C buck here in Alberta.dad had him shot opening morning with field pictures taken and carried over a mile back to the truck before we even saw another hunter....was an awesome day!

I've hunted 102 twice, down near Manyberries.

Antelope are goofy/fun to hunt.

Hike in to a good vantage point, have a coffee, read a book. Before long some other group of hunters will push a herd, and you'll have them run right up to you, come running from 3 miles away.


This antelope went 78-5/8".

Tannis got a 90 incher in 2013 and lives in Manyberries

i hunted there after lots of research in 1991

it gets lots of border crossing herds

i had stopped at a ranch n a lady gave me all the ranches that allowed access

few brothers that did not allow access but all want u to stay on trails /road

and some only allow access by foot till you got a Antelope

it was a fun hunt

only thing i hit by a storm(blizzard) at 2pm heading home at Brooks

what a storm 100 vehicle's abandoned before Calgary

100 more from Calgary too Red Deer

took me till 11:30 am the next day too get home(Hinton) Jeep CJ5 304

only took a 1hr off at the Buffalo store at Hobbema

fun hunt then and would be now ... i walked out to herds on hill

on way out 6 came out at 150yds just appeared the herd was still on hill

saw 4 Sage Grouse too on old railway when driving close to buck
