Default .22 RimFire Black Powder

First I’ve ever heard of ... this AM a Range friend was shooting his 22 LR Blackpowder handloads. This involves pulling the bullet from a standard cartridge, removing the crimp, empty powder, recharge with black powder, reseat the bullet, and crimp. He is preparing for a black powder shoot.

Neat. I've seen kits advertised in the States for reloading .22 lr cases. Comes with a little squirt bottle of primer goo and black powder reloading data. I seem to recall watching a YouTube video about it but darned if I can find it now.

Doesn't really say what is in his Prime-all kit there. I am assuming, it is broken down to something that is not considered dangerous goods to ship;

Love this article on it, he has some "alternatives" for the priming compound.

Reloading .22 brass sounds interesting but pulling the bullet and replacing powder on a shootable factory load seems like more nuisance than good.
What is the advantage of doing this other than to prove it can be done?
