That's what I was thinking. If the fact that he's wearing orange is the give away, it would mean he's inside the block...

Is it illegal to wear an orange vest when hunting outside of Suffield? Lol...

I think he wore the vest to distract people from commenting on the score.

That is just an iconic animal. Love seeing mature bulls like that.

I applaud the lucky hunter and congratulate him a million.

That's exactly my point. Could be around the Milk River wearing a vest but the first couple replies were Suffield because the vest... Anyway i'm over it now, i'm sure the location will come out shortly. I wish that bull was on my wall!

Hey all, this is my elk. It was on the base, the pictures were taken off of the base after we loaded him and removed him from the base. I always like to take pictures as the hunt happened for the memories down the road - hence the orange vest.

The bull gross scored 397 5/8 and has over 70" of mass and an 11 4/8" drop tine. Truly the hunt of a lifetime and I'm pumped over everything that happened. We saw lots of good elk across Alberta and this was the biggest to come off of the base so far this year that anyone knew about. The biologist who checked him at the gate figured he was over 10 years old and had no teeth left and a relatively small body as he was declining in size due to age.

Maybe he put the vest on after the elk was already on the ground in hopes nobody would take a shot while he was there?

Great looking bull either way.

Never mind the orange vest as an indicator, the colour and texture of the antlers says it all. Prairie elk, likely never saw a real tree.
