Default Double Drop Tine Whitetail

Was out with dad yesterday morning and got into the ground blind 45mins before legal light. Blind overlooks a large field that just had Oats harvested off it. 30mins after legal light I hit the rattle bag pretty hard for around 3 mins and set it down and less then 2 mins later this deer comes out from behind us and walks into the field 80yds away. Saw one dropper and decided this was the one, shot a bit high and nicked the spine and he dropped where he was standing. Excitement mounted when we walked up to him and saw the 2nd dropper. Never seen a double dropper in the bush before, we couldnt believe it. we have cameras up all year and never seen him before either. Hes not huge but character trumped size in this case.

Interesting. Never thought about that before. Is an irregularity like a drop tine completely random? Would it be highly unlikely he would have such a feature in future years?

From what I have seen they in previous years letting deer like that go they always kept drops or kickers just got bigger heavier and longer tines
