Default simple grouse recipes

Does anyone have any simple recipes for ruffled grouse that can be easily prepared in the field? I'm not looking for any shake and bake or just salt and pepper type recipes. Ideally I'm looking for something unique, tasty and without needing to hall a ton of gear out with me in my day pack.

However you prep it, fry it in bacon grease 'til golden. Yummers.

Campbells makes a Fiesta Nacho Cheese soup with a pull tab top.

I would fry up some boneless Ruffie strips in a small pan and add some of the soup mixture.Maybe add pre-cut bell pepper/onion strips from a ziplock in your pack.Maybe some cooked chick peas or white beans also in a small ziplock. Then when everything is hot and bubbling pour it over a tortilla that you had rolled in foil and unrolled and warmed over the fire. Make a huge sloppy Mexi- Grouse Burrito
The foil acts as your plate to contain the beast. Very warming and satisfying when it is cold outside to be holding that hot mass of tasty.

Slice grouse meat into strips.
Melt butter in frypan
Cook grouse in the melted butter adding black pepper and garlic to taste.

Default Grouse

Fry it up in a pan with a good amount of red wine, and season as you like. Can't get any better!
