Got my first elk!
I went up north on my first ever elk hunt and much to my surprise I called a bull in to 14 yards on the second morning of the hunt. I went out the evening before to a good elk trail and hung scent rags all over and did a little cow calling. The next morning before light while we were having a coffee at camp I heard a bugle from the same area as my scent rags. I snuck in there quietly and gave a cow call and immediately the bull responded with a deep bugle. A few more hot cow calls and within 5 minutes he was stepping out into the open at 14 yards. My tru-fire switchblade broadhead did quick work of him and he piled up 50 yards away. My best hunt yet by far.

Congrats hope to be in your shoes in a couple days myself!!!
You have been spoiled its not always gonna be that easy.
I have missed one bull big 6x6 a few years back (distance judgment error) other than that never been close with a bow.
Although when a rifle is on my shoulder they seem to get into 20 yards.
Curious when this was?
