Default Yellowknife

hey everyone,

Im going to yellowknife may 3rd for a fight, nice trip as there paying for flight, hotel, food, and all taxi fares. anyways, what is Yellowknife like, what would the weather be like?

Default Yellowknife

Yep, once you get past the Airport, Legislative building and Museum, you have done it all....get a good hotel room, you will spend most of your time there! I spent a few months there in a few days last summer! Eat early they roll up the Streets at about 6:30....Black Knights pub was fun though.

Now here is the tip of the century
you MUST MUST MUST go to Bullocks Bistro.
You have no choice in the matter.
Sometimes I wish I could fly up from Calgary just to eat there.
Cool place, serve your self beer. Old cabin kind of thing, large deck overlooking the water, sign your name on the wall kinda place.

The museum.. Take 10 minutes and go see it. Has a neat plane.

A friend of mine was there a couple of weeks ago with the sleds. He said it was -30 the morn he left!!!!!!!!!!

One yaer we were up that way the ice was still on slave then it was 1st june Leland had just opened up the week before we got there.

Never been there, but a friend of mine moved up there last year. He gets primped and ready 3 times a week to go to the grocery store and chat with people. He says it's the place to be.

In The Warm Months The Wildcat Was The Place To Get A Caribou Burger..not Sure If It's Still There...AND OLD YELLOWKNIFE IS WHERE YOU FIND RAGGED A** ROAD...CLOSE TO THE HUDSON BAY TRADING POST...
